The programme area of electronic scientific publishing was established in the summer of 2004 with the terms of reference through projects and activities to contribute to the development within electronic publishing, cooperation with the Danish Research Database and coordination to ensuring that local initiatives comply with standards and exchange experiences regarding technical solutions for e-publishing. This presupposes cooperation across Danish universities, research institutions and research libraries, which must occur in collaboration with local initiatives. This requires the development of models for e-publishing in cooperation with publicists and coorpereration on standards and software. The Danish Research Database forms part of a national research portal to communication between society and research.

The main purpose is twofold:

• to contribute to open access to Danish research results to the greatest possible extent
• to contribute to Danish research, its institutions and scientists, being exposed as efficiently as possible in the international digital knowledge -haring and communication.

Among other things, the programme committee operates with:

• Preserving e-published information
• Issues of rights in relation to e-publishing
• Models for e-publishing of scientific journals
• Research registration and Institutional repositories
• Knowledge-sharing regarding e-publishing
